Adobe Flash Player cannot work in my vista

我的IE的flash player在某次更新後, 突然不能執行了, 每次只要到了有flash的網頁就會要我下載並安裝flash, 但是下載後, 卻後沒辦法安裝成功。把flash player uninstall/install了n次也沒用….今天剛好看到網路上也有人遇到類似的問題, 解法有2:

1. 重新安裝IE, 但是我的IE是附在vista裏面的, 無法uninstall, 所以只好選第2方案.
2. 找到flash player的安裝程式, 直接按FlashUtilxx.exe
   • 我的是32 bit的vista, Flash的安裝程式是在C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash的目錄下

原始的資料是在 computing.net上的討論區看到的, 我使用第2個解法, 果然解決了我的問題。根據上面的解釋是說因為vista的安全控管會限制應用程式更新registry的設定, 必需要直接執行那個程式才能安裝成功。真是不喜歡vista的自作聰明…. 超不方便的….

Using WebDAV to access web directories

Windows XP Network Places

Perform the following steps to add a new Network Place:

1. 首先到”網路上的芳鄰”, 滑鼠按右鍵, 選開啟
   
   將會開啟另一個新的視窗.
2. 在新視窗中, 點選網路工作選項下的”新增一個網路位置”
   
3. 將會啟動”新增網路位置精靈”, 選”下一步”
4. 出現”您要在那裏建立這個網路位置?”, 選擇指定網站, 網路位置…後, 按”下一步”
   
5. 輸入IP或是domain name
   
6. 輸入欲連線位址上的使用者名稱 及 密碼
   
7. 可以給這個位址取一個容易記住的名字, 或使用一開始輸入的IP或domain name
8. 按”完成”

執行完上述步驟後, 在”網路上的芳鄰”便能看到如下圖的新加入的位址了.

Get a "Software installation disabled" message
( how to enable the installation of extensions and themes after performing an upgrade from a 1.0.x version to 1.5)

1. Type about:config in the URL bar
2. Enter Filter = xpinstall
3. Find the Preference Name = xpinstall.enabled
4. Right-Click and select Toggle to True
5. Restart Firefox

Extension and Theme Compatible Problems

• When you install Firefox 1.5, your Extensions and Themes may be disabled until Firefox 1.5 determines that either
  • they are compatible with the Firefox 1.5 release or
  • there are newer versions available that are compatible.
• This is because Firefox changes from release to release and as such the ways in which some extensions integrate changes, meaning there can be problems when running an older extension with a newer version of Firefox.

Firefox in Safe Mode

If you encounter strange problems relating to parts of the browser no longer working, the browser not starting, windows with strange or distorted appearance, degraded performance, etc, you may be suffering from Extension or Theme trouble. Restart the browser in Safe Mode. On Windows, start using the "Safe Mode" shortcut created in your Start menu or by running firefox.exe -safe-mode.

If you encounter strange problems relating to bookmarks, downloads, window placement, toolbars, history, or other settings, use the Firefox Safe Mode to disable all extensions, themes, and optionally attempt to clean up any corrupted data.
