JESS Agent

1. University of Technology Aachen, Germany. The Jess Agent is constructed in a way that allows an easy access to the JESS via an agent.
2. (JessAgent) JADE example. A simple sample JADE Agent that embeds a Jess engine. It instantiates and adds only one behaviour. This behaviour is BasicJessBehaviour that only asserts messages when they arrive and use Jess as a reasoning tool This agent executes the Jess code in the file examples/jess/JadeAgent.clp
3. (JadeJessProtege) JADE example. Examples for a closer integration of JADE with JESS, optionally also with protege. Aspects are starting a JADE agent from a running JESS engine, interactively developing JADE agent behaviour from a JESS console, and protege ontology support for JADE agents in JESS rules.

附早餐及簡單的咖哩飯晚餐. 早餐是自助式, 有3種口味的三角飯糰, 味噌湯, 茶和咖啡. 平時也會提供茶及咖啡.single room B是給一個比一般single bed大的床, 每天會cleaning room, 如果在10點沒有出去的話, 櫃台會打電話來問要不要清潔房間. 房間很乾淨, 書桌旁的牆上會有網路插孔, 直接接上notebook就可以上網. 1F有付費 洗衣 及 乾衣機.

	搭ＪＲ在美馬牛站下車, 就在車站旁邊, 一個很溫馨可愛的hostel. 美馬牛車站是一個無人的小站, 只有local train會到, 所以不用劃位, 要注意的是每天停美馬牛的班次不多, 所以要事先安排好schedule, 才能節省交通時間.在hostel的對面附近就有bicycle rental, 一小時200Yen, 附近的路其實很多上玻路, 所以也可以租電動腳踏車, 每小時600Yen.
	2F的男女厠所有投幣式洗衣及乾衣機. 浴室是男女分開的小型日式浴場. 晚上9點是free tea time, 所有房客可以一起到1樓聊天. 早餐則是在7:15, 是每人一份的西式+日式簡便早餐.
	附近的美馬牛小學很美. 走路約30分鐘可到.
	晚上的星星很多, 但是外出時要注意門禁時間, 11點前要回去.

2.5KM	JR旭川駅下車、徒歩15分。旭川車站下車後, 往站前的馬路上走, 在第6個紅綠燈(6条通8丁目)向左轉後 在遇到第一個block向右轉, 約10公尺就到了.
	旅館位於旭川市中心, 附近很多商店, 所以3餐可以在附近的餐廳解決.. 我們訂房時, 剛好旅館在整修, 住的房間窗外, 都是工程圍蘺, 但房間很乾淨, 晚上也沒有施工.
	twin room房間很大. 樓下有wireless及電腦可使用. 但沒找到冰水及熱水的供應處. 房間有一個很小的加熱式水壼可用.

1KM	我們在附近的一家Sailor的日本餐廳用餐, 500Yen日式便當一個, 很便宜又有當地色彩. 餐廳內的裝飾, 有一些是跟漁夫/水手有關的器具, 以及足球海報.

	搭JR至洞爺駅後, 再轉道南巴士, 到洞爺溫泉, Bus約20分到洞爺溫泉站. 旅館是在湖畔诳旁, 是最右邊的湖濱旅館, 也是一間比較舊的旅館.服務人員十分貼心, 會為我們準備附近的旅遊資料.
	雖然是定single room, 但房間是小小的twin bed. 房間內只有廁所, 沒有淋浴設備, 所以要到日式大澡堂洗溫泉浴. 室內澡堂很大, 有2層, 第2層是有玻璃窗, 可以看到屋外的景色. 另有露天澡堂, 但沒有使用過.
	4/28 ~ 10/31每天晚上都有湖上煙火. 在湖邊就可以看到. 煙火是利用船隻施放的. 所以會移動位置; 由湖岸最左邊的Hotel前開始施放, 一直放到最右邊的Hotel為止, 約15分鐘.
	晚餐及早餐是由服務人員送到客房的, 十分的豐富.

旅館位於市區南部的郊外地區，為一大型度假酒店。有提供free shuttle來回於旅館及札幌市區, 以及千歲機場至旅館的付費巴士。
來回札幌市區的free shuttle下午6PM才開始運轉, 我們是晚上到札幌, 所以就搭市電車到豐水susuki站, 搭shuttle到旅館的.

	飯店至機場則可搭乘北都交通的巴士，在hotel門外的左手邊就有一個站. 來回機場的巴士約30分鐘就有一班車, 單程1,000Yen

Get a "Software installation disabled" message
( how to enable the installation of extensions and themes after performing an upgrade from a 1.0.x version to 1.5)

1. Type about:config in the URL bar
2. Enter Filter = xpinstall
3. Find the Preference Name = xpinstall.enabled
4. Right-Click and select Toggle to True
5. Restart Firefox

Extension and Theme Compatible Problems

• When you install Firefox 1.5, your Extensions and Themes may be disabled until Firefox 1.5 determines that either
  • they are compatible with the Firefox 1.5 release or
  • there are newer versions available that are compatible.
• This is because Firefox changes from release to release and as such the ways in which some extensions integrate changes, meaning there can be problems when running an older extension with a newer version of Firefox.

Firefox in Safe Mode

If you encounter strange problems relating to parts of the browser no longer working, the browser not starting, windows with strange or distorted appearance, degraded performance, etc, you may be suffering from Extension or Theme trouble. Restart the browser in Safe Mode. On Windows, start using the "Safe Mode" shortcut created in your Start menu or by running firefox.exe -safe-mode.

If you encounter strange problems relating to bookmarks, downloads, window placement, toolbars, history, or other settings, use the Firefox Safe Mode to disable all extensions, themes, and optionally attempt to clean up any corrupted data.

Getting Started with Jess 6.1p8

Compiling Jess source files

You can compile Jess by typing a few commands yourself.

cd "c:\Program Files\Jess61p8"
javac -d . jess*.java
javac -d . jessawt*.java
javac -d . jessfactory*.java

would work just fine, given that c:\Program Files\Jess61p8 is your current directory.

NOTE: Jess works fine with JDK 1.4, but you will get warnings during the compilation about a conflict between the new Java keyword "assert" amd the Jess function jess.Rete.assert(). These are just warnings, and they don't stop the compilation. This function is now deprecated in Jess and will be phased out over the next few versions.

If you have problems, be sure the CLASSPATH environment variable includes the current directory '.'. Don't try to compile from inside the Jess61p8/jess/ directory; it won't work. You must use a Java 2 compiler to compile Jess. The resulting code will run on any Java 2 or later VM. Jess works great with JDK 1.3. There are a number of optional example source files in the subdirectories Jess61p8/jess/examples/ that aren't compiled if you follow the instructions above. You can compile the examples one at a time. For example, to compile the example named pumps using the JDK on a Windows system, you can use the command

javac -d . jessexamplespumps*.java

Again, don't set your current directory to, for example, Jess61p8/jess/examples/pumps/ to compile the pumps example: it will not work. The compiler will report all sorts of errors about classes not being found and the jess package not being found. Compile everything from the Jess61p8 directory. I can't stress this enough: this is by far the most common problem people have in getting started with Jess!

Create jess.jar

Jess API will need the Jess.jar file. The following command will create a jar file.
